The geology and landscape of Buck Wood’s past has contributed to the woodland’s ecology as it is now. They have both played a role in creating a range of habitats for mammals, reptiles, birds, plants and fungi, all of which we hope will continue to flourish despite changes in climate and greater usage of the area by the expanding community of Thackley.

As we and others learn more about the Wood we will continue to add to this page, because there are many unexplored aspects of the Wood and its past, and curious features that we want to study!
